Who We Are
In a lot of ways, the last thing that Lancaster County needed was another church. Our goal was never to just start “another church” but to gather together a community of believers to meet a need. We saw an opportunity to minister to the “the un-churched and the over-churched.” We saw a community of people who could come together to share the genuine love of Christ, and through the relevant teaching of the Word of God, challenge and encourage tired and searching hearts. We sought to create experiences where personal application was a key component in our preaching and worship. We sought to answer the question, “Now that I’ve heard the message of Jesus Christ in a relevant manner, what do I need to change in my life to line up with His Word? What do I need to do to take the next step in my journey with Jesus?”
Journeying with Jesus has been a fitting motto for us, because ever since our beginning in 2000, we have been a portable church. From cars, to trailers to a U-Haul truck – we unloaded and set up every Sunday morning. Then, when the meeting was over, we loaded it all back up again. Every week, our faithful team of “Levites” would set up the sanctuary, so we could worship God together. During these years, our services, youth nights and offices were in a variety of locations. We first met in a home, moved to a fire hall, moved to a hotel, and also worshipped in a High School Fine Arts Center. Many churches in the Lancaster area opened up their fellowship halls on off nights for our youth to meet. It was difficult to constantly adapt to different locations, but as time passed, we realized that God was using these situations to bring us even closer together as a church.
In January of 2006 we took a HUGE step of faith when we met with High Associates and negotiated the leasing of a warehouse in their beautiful Greenfield Corporate Center. In March of 2007, we moved our offices, our youth ministry and our main services into very own building. That’s where our main campus is today.
In April of 2011, we expanded to the north of Lancaster and opened up a satellite location in Penn Cinema in Lititz. We are now one church in two locations.
In many ways, we are a young church. We laugh, we’re honest, we worship God, and we are learning to do life together. We’re a community, a tribe. Our message is always biblically-based and full of relevance for our culture. We’re pretty relaxed but incredibly passionate about what we believe in.
You’re invited to come and check us out. I think you will be amazingly surprised.
